Tech, Science and Data Staff Panel: First 100 Days

first 100.png

Join us for an informal chat with current and former Congressional staff with their best advice for what comes after the first hundred days, and in particular, how can you make use of the Tech, Science, and Data tools and strategies out there for Congressional staff to handle an ever-increasing workload.

At our first Tech, Science, and Data staff panel at the 2020 New Member Orientation, we focused on pacing your hiring, setting your goals, leaning on formal and informal knowledge networks, and prioritizing what needed to get done in the first hundred days.

Now we’re at that first hundred day mark, and we know that many of you have questions. Join us for an informal chat with current and former Congressional staff with their best advice for what comes after the first hundred days, and in particular, how can you make use of the Tech, Science, and Data tools and strategies out there for Congressional staff to handle an ever-increasing workload.

Topics we’ll cover include:

--> Tools and technology: how do you know if a piece of software has been HIR approved, and how do you help get it there?
--> Service design for offices: how do you set up a process for some of the more intensive annual pieces of constituent-focused work, including appropriations (and new Community Project Funding!) or service academy nominations?
--> Transitioning from remote to in-person: how do you make space in your workload for in-person demands? What should new offices expect from a fully in-person Congressional office?

Other questions from the first hundred days: we welcome your questions! Let us know what’s on your mind by emailing us at anne@popvox.org, or bring your questions to the webinar and we’ll do our best to make sure you get answers.
