POPVOX Foundation Launches “AI Summer Camp” for Congressional Staff

BY AUBREY WILSON

Today, POPVOX Foundation launched its newest initiative for Congressional staff, “AI Summer Camp,” a self-led exploration of the rapidly evolving world of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI).

AI Summer Camp is tailored to the day-to-day work of the Hill and offers a series of structured prompts and practical use cases for everyone on the team, including:

By completing the five camp “quests,” interested staff will get the chance to:

  • try out institutionally approved AI tools,

  • learn best practices for safe and effective use,

  • develop new workflows to increase efficiency, and

  • gain a deeper understanding of how GenAI can support (not replace) the human-centered work of governance.

Why We Created AI Summer Camp

As GenAI becomes increasingly embedded in professional workflows, the gap is growing between interest and implementation — especially in time-strapped Congressional offices. POPVOX Foundation created AI Summer Camp to help close that gap.

This initiative gives staffers the space and structure to engage with this technology meaningfully. It’s about understanding what GenAI can do — and just as importantly, what it can’t — while building staff capacity and confidence to make informed decisions about its use.

AI Summer Camp is fully on-demand and self-paced, so staff can join the adventure whenever they’re ready.
