POPVOX Foundation Names Aubrey Wilson Managing Director

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

POPVOX Foundation (popvox.org) is proud to announce that Aubrey Wilson has been named Managing Director of the organization.

Since joining POPVOX Foundation in 2023, Aubrey has been a vital link with Congress and, as Director of Global Initiatives and Government Innovation, expanded the Foundation's presence around the world. She has led global efforts to deploy the open-source ParlLink platform to help paper-based parliaments digitize their legislative processes, monitored AI policies in legislatures worldwide, published research, and trained lawmakers and staff in the responsible use of AI.

Aubrey has been a leader on AI in legislatures since her time on the Committee on House Administration, where she took the first steps — including recruiting a GAO detailee to focus on AI — to create a Housewide AI policy. She has brought that same foresight and initiative to POPVOX Foundation, becoming one of the foremost voices on how representative institutions can harness AI to augment their capacity while maintaining the oversight responsibilities the public expects of their elected officials.

“Aubrey is a powerhouse,” said Marci Harris, Executive Director of POPVOX Foundation. “She knows Congress inside and out, has built deep relationships on both sides of the aisle, and is never afraid to jump into unfamiliar territory and lead from the front. She has become one of the world's foremost experts in legislative use cases for AI. She shows people in the policy world what it looks like to engage with technology seriously, responsibly, and without fear. We are incredibly lucky to have her leadership as we enter this next chapter for the Foundation.”

As Managing Director, Aubrey will lead the POPVOX Foundation team and continue her work at the intersection of government innovation, responsible use of technology, and ensuring representative institutions keep pace with a changing world.

Before joining POPVOX Foundation, Aubrey served as Deputy Staff Director for the Committee on House Administration (CHA) in the 118th Congress, where she played a lead role in making the House work more effectively by directing the committee's oversight agenda, organizing hearings, and liaising with Members to align institutional support with their offices' needs. She also served as Staff Director of the Joint Committee on Printing, the longest-running joint committee of Congress, and oversaw the inaugural session of CHA's Subcommittee on Modernization, the successor of the impactful House Select Committee on the Modernization of Congress. During the 117th Congress, she served as Director of Oversight and Modernization for CHA, witnessing firsthand the House's institutional response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the events of January 6, 2021.

Aubrey hosts POPVOX Foundation's Gavel In podcast for freshmen Members of Congress, sharing institutional knowledge to support those new to Capitol Hill. She serves as editor of the Keeping Pace newsletter, continuing her commitment to Congressional effectiveness and modernization. In 2024, she was selected as a Bertelsmann Foundation Fellow, where she focused on the future of democracy, bringing her Congressional experience to broader discussions about democratic institutions.

Aubrey graduated from Hillsdale College with a BA in Political Economics. She is a former House legislative assistant and a member of the R Street Institute Governance Policy and Federal Affairs team. Originally from northern Idaho, Aubrey lives in the DC area with her husband, twin daughters, and a ridiculously curly bernedoodle.

POPVOX Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization working to ensure legislatures at the city, state, national, and international levels can effectively serve the public in a rapidly changing world.
